The seemingly endless parade of vehicle recalls in the past couple years, continues today with the Chevy Impala 2009 and 2010 models being recalled by General Motors, as per company and NHTSA statements Friday, October 15. Apparently the 2009 and 2010 Chevy Impala seat belt webbing may not be secured properly, causing them to fail the strength safety requirements for seat belt anchors in the United States and Canada.
While somewhat serious, it certainly isn’t as scary as the Toyota acceleration problems. Chevy Impala owners are told they can bring their car into the dealer in late October to have the seat belt anchors checked and fixed or replaced, if necessary. There will be no charge for the fix.

According to GM, there have only been 32 reports of seat belt anchor failure in the US, and no injuries or deaths attributed to the defect. So if you own a Chevy Impala, be sure to get your seat belt defect taken care of as soon as possible.
